This Privacy Policy describes how Quizzania ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). The App is designed for students aged 10–14 and is used in a school or educational setting.

By using the App, you (or your parent or guardian) agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use the App:

• Account information: Full name, email address, class and section, and an optional username.
• Quiz and learning activity: Quiz sessions, questions answered, scores, subjects and topics studied, and revision history.
• App activity: Coins earned and spent, achievements unlocked, avatar customisation choices, daily challenge completions, and FunZone game scores.
• Social features: Friend connections made within the App (username-based only).
• Device information: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. We do not collect your device's IMEI, phone number, or precise location.
• Online presence: Whether you are currently active in the App (used to show online status to friends within the App).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected only for the following purposes:

• To operate and personalise your learning experience (quiz recommendations, progress tracking, leaderboards).
• To award coins, XP, and achievements based on your activity.
• To send you push notifications about quiz reminders, multiplayer invitations, and friend requests.
• To enable multiplayer and social features (friend list, online status, game rooms).
• To allow teachers or parents linked to your account to monitor your progress.
• To improve the App and fix bugs (via crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics).

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Firebase (Google LLC): We use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed through these services: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for students aged 10–14 and is intended to be set up by a parent, guardian, or school. We take children's privacy seriously.

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or guardian consent.
• Accounts for children under 13 should be created by a parent, guardian, or teacher.
• We do not serve advertisements to any users.
• We do not share children's personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.
• Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review, update, or delete their child's information (see Section 7).

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, quiz history, coins, achievements, avatar, and friend connections — is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

6. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App:

Settings → Danger Zone → Delete My Account

This action is irreversible and will erase all your data.

Parents or guardians may also request account deletion by emailing us (see Section 7).

7. Your Rights & Contact Us

You (or your parent or guardian) have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Withdraw consent for data collection (by deleting your account).

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the App and our servers. Passwords are stored as secure hashes and are never stored in plain text. Session cookies are used to maintain your login and are cleared on logout.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
